In the first instance, the awarded company lacked an essential document for the works to be awarded. In the second attempt, a negotiated award without advertising was carried out: the council asked three companies to submit a proposal for the execution of the works, giving a period of ten working days. Only one was submitted, Igez Eraikuntzak: since the proposal submitted meets all the required conditions, the works have been awarded to it.

Usurbil City Council announces renovation works on roads and sports center.
The Usurbil City Council has announced that road repair works between Urkamendi and Iarbe have been postponed to April 13-15, and the renovation of the Oiardo sports center will also begin to address last year's fire damage.
The repair works for the road between Urkamendi and Iarbe, initially scheduled for April 7-9, have been delayed by one week and will now take place from April 13-15. The Usurbil City Council has stated that the road will be completely closed during these works. For this project, the Council has contracted the company Arri, allocating 29,530 euros to remove the asphalt and construct a new concrete road. After the works are completed, the road will remain partially closed to heavy vehicles for the following three weeks.
In addition to road repairs, the Usurbil City Council has announced other significant renovation works to begin after the holidays. Among these is the rehabilitation of the Oiardo sports center area, which was damaged by a fire in August of last year. The Council has already awarded the contracts for these works, which are expected to last approximately five months.
The fire at the Oiardo sports center originated in the sauna on August 27 last year, causing significant damage, particularly in the sauna and swimming pool areas. According to studies conducted by the Council, the damages were valued at 641,000 euros. The renovation works have been awarded to the company Igez Eraikuntzak SL for an amount of 641,396.50 euros. The awarding process has taken longer than anticipated, as the Council, despite its efforts to expedite the procedure, had to issue the call for bids twice.
The municipal government team has welcomed the start of the renovation works as positive news but has expressed caution regarding the possibility of unforeseen damages emerging once the work begins. The goal is to fully reopen the sports center by autumn, though they added that it is difficult to confirm with complete certainty that the projected deadlines will be met.
