Gipuzkoa's roads now feature 38 fixed radars, managed by Bidegi and the Department of Security, to ensure safer driving and help avoid fines.

Two new radars have been installed at the junction between the AP-1 and AP-8 in Eibar, bringing the total number of fixed radars on Gipuzkoan roads to 38, managed by Bidegi and the Traffic Directorate of the Department of Security.
A search tool, utilizing updated data from RACE and Trafikoa, allows users to visualize fixed radars and their exact speed limits by entering their start and end points, enabling more cautious driving.
The Gipuzkoan section of the AP-8 recorded 33,813 fines last year, making it the most fined road in the Basque network. The GI-20 in Donostia and the N-I in Gipuzkoa also rank high, with 22,597 and 22,000 fines respectively.
Over 320,000 fines were processed across the Basque Country last year, with more than 70% attributed to speeding. Specifically, Gipuzkoa issued over 91,027 speeding fines, an increase compared to figures from over five years ago.
The N-I and AP-8 highways are the most heavily monitored routes. Radars on the N-I are located between Etzegarate and Andoain, while the AP-8 has devices in the Zestoa, Mendaro, and Elgoibar areas, some with speed limits of 80 km/h.
In the vicinity of San Sebastián, the GI-20 features several fixed radar surveillance points in tunnels and residential areas such as Aiete, Intxaurrondo, and Pasaia, with speed limits of 80 or 100 km/h depending on the section.
