The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, in collaboration with Pagoeta Mendizale Elkartea, the Aia Town Council, and Etorlur, has organized the Pagoeta Nature Park Day for next June 7th, Sunday, to recognize the park's importance.

This year's celebration holds special significance as it marks the 60th edition of the main event organized by the Pagoeta Mendizale Elkartea of Zarautz. The coinciding dates with European Natura 2000 Day and Nature Parks Day add extra weight to the festivities.
The main activities will take place at the summit of Pagoeta starting from 10:15 AM. Two ascent routes have been arranged: one departing from Gozategi Square in Aia at 9:00 AM, guided by environmental educators from the Gipuzkoa Parketxes Network; and another from the bar Guria in Zarautz at 8:30 AM, accompanied by Pagoeta Mendizale Elkartea. Organizers recommend participants be accustomed to hiking, bring water, and wear appropriate footwear, noting that the route is not suitable for small children and pets are not allowed.
At the summit, various events are scheduled: experts from the Gipuzkoa Pottokazale Association will introduce the local pottoka (Basque pony); a bird rehabilitated by the Basabizi center will be released; a group from Oiartzun will perform a demonstration of Basque stick fighting; a mass will be held at 11:30 AM by the cross; and the day will be enlivened by the trikitilaris from the cultural association Trik. Food and drink will be available, but attendees are asked to bring their own cups.
