Hondarribia Gears Up for a Month of Intense Cultural Activity

Music, cinema, and theater will be the main attractions of April's agenda, highlighting the Muxiko Eguna and Náyade Abesbatza concert.

Hondarribia has unveiled a packed cultural agenda for April, featuring prominent events such as the Muxiko Eguna, a concert by Náyade Abesbatza, and various theater and cinema screenings.

Following Holy Week, Hondarribia is set to embark on a month of April filled with vibrant cultural activities. The agenda includes significant events like this Sunday's Muxiko Eguna, the Náyade Abesbatza concert on April 18, and theater sessions at Itsas Etxea on Sundays, April 19 and 25.
The best short films and documentaries from the Mendi Film festival will arrive at Itsas Etxea tomorrow and the day after, as part of the Mendi Tour, with tickets priced at three euros available online and at Arma Plaza. The Easter week will conclude with a Sunday full of activities, notably the Muxiko Eguna, which will be celebrated throughout the day in Alde Zaharra and on San Pedro kalea. In the afternoon, the Papillon film club will screen the movie El ladrón de bicicletas at the Polvorín, the second session of a cycle dedicated to cities, which will continue on Saturday, April 25, with the showing of Taxi Driver.
In the third week of the month, Náyade Abesbatza will present Iraganetik hona, their new artistic project combining history and music, on Saturday, April 18, at Itsas Etxea (6:00 PM). This white-voice choir's initiative features the collaboration of pianist Ander Simal, historian Mariajo Noain, and students from the Musika Eskola. The day before, Ane Zubeldia from Hondarribia will present her latest poetry book, Kontra, at the library, while Ahoztar Zelaieta will do the same at Kultur Etxea. Regarding Sunday, April 19, the Itsas Etxea auditorium will host the Spanish play Mihura: el último comediógrafo (7:00 PM), with tickets priced at eight euros.
Ane Zubeldia from Hondarribia will present her latest poetry book, Kontra, on Friday, April 17, at 7:00 PM at Zuloaga Etxea. On Friday, April 24, Ane Segurola 'Saguxar' from Irun will perform at Maddalen Arte Gunea at 8:00 PM with free admission. The weekend will be marked by sports events, including the Donostia-Hondarribia-Donostia cycling march and the Mar Costa senior fishing championship on Saturday, and the 10K popular race on Sunday. At Itsas Etxea, on Saturday, April 25 (7:00 PM), the theater and dance show R&J will be presented, and Sunday will feature family cinema with the Basque screening of Baba Yaga eta sorginkerien liburua. Also noteworthy is the jazz concert on April 26 at Kultur Etxea by the Luismi Segurado Trío, at 8:00 PM with tickets at ten euros.
To conclude the month, and pending program confirmation, the International Guitar Festival will begin on Wednesday, April 29. Furthermore, Maddalen Arte Gunea will host Maider Goikoetxea's exhibition Herritik irten gabe until May 15, while the Sports Port promenade will be the setting for artisan fairs on Sundays, April 19 and 26, in the mornings. Also not to be forgotten are the writing workshops, reading clubs, and easy reading sessions held weekly at the municipal library.
