The predicted intense heatwave for Sunday is being confirmed in the interior of Gipuzkoa, according to data from Euskalmet's meteorological stations. By early afternoon, several locations in the inland territory had already surpassed the 40-degree mark.
Around 2:00 PM, Zizurkil recorded the highest temperature at 41 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Alegia (40.5 degrees) and Lasarte-Oria (40.1 degrees), making them the hottest spots in Gipuzkoa.
The heat has also reached the coast, with Zarautz registering 39.5 degrees Celsius, indicating a widespread feeling of oppressive heat throughout the province.
