The Basque Meteorological Agency (Euskalmet) has issued a yellow alert for Gipuzkoa due to intense rainfall expected between 2 PM and midnight today.

The thunderstorms, initially anticipated for yesterday afternoon, have been postponed until today. According to Euskalmet, the morning will see weak and scattered showers, but the intensity will increase significantly during the afternoon.
In the latter half of the day, precipitation will intensify, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and strong wind gusts that could reach 60-80 kilometers per hour. The yellow alert is active across all of Euskadi, with the possibility of exceeding 15 liters per square meter in one hour at any point in the autonomous community. In Gipuzkoa, the wind will shift to the north in the afternoon, causing a slight drop in temperatures.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue tomorrow, with a "rather cloudy" sky and "widespread and, eventually, intense" precipitation, although no alerts are currently active. The northerly wind will moderate temperatures, with maximums not exceeding 20°C.
Yesterday's rainfall was lower, with a maximum of 5.4 liters per square meter over 24 hours and 4.6 liters in one hour, both recorded at the Behobia (Irun) weather station. In Álava and Bizkaia, rainfall was more significant. Valdegovía (Álava) accumulated 9.2 liters in one hour and 15.1 liters over 24 hours. In Bizkaia, the maximum was 19.3 liters over 24 hours in Sondika and 14.4 liters in one hour in Sopuerta.
Rain and intermittent thunderstorms will be the norm during the first half of the coming week. Improved weather is not expected until Thursday, when, according to the state agency Aemet, a day without showers is forecast, with its continuity for the upcoming weekend yet to be determined.
