The PNV of Sopuerta has denounced a «lack of transparency» and «potential irregularities» in the management of subsidies by the EH Bildu government team, following a heated debate between the mayor and the municipal comptroller.

The Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) of Sopuerta has raised concerns about a «lack of transparency» in the administration of subsidies by the current government team, led by EH Bildu. This complaint follows a contentious session in the municipal plenary, where the municipal comptroller expressed doubts regarding the processing and justification of certain financial aid.
The jeltzale party considers this situation «particularly serious» given that the comptroller is the official responsible for ensuring the legality of municipal accounts. During the discussion, Mayor Agustín Cuadrado reportedly raised his voice and ultimately silenced the municipal technician, claiming he had previously had to correct her reports.

The poor management is affecting associations, which are being forced to return significant amounts of money.

The PNV has criticized the mayor's «lack of rigor», stating that he «lost his composure». Furthermore, they warn that this «poor management» is directly impacting local associations, which are being compelled to «return significant sums of money». Consequently, they demand that proper management of public resources be guaranteed.
