Zumaia will welcome August this Saturday with the celebration of the Gala Gau. This event, originally created for charitable purposes in the mid-20th century, invites citizens to dress up and participate in a festive atmosphere.
In the past, the Beheko Plaza was cordoned off for dances with orchestra music, with proceeds going to the San Juan residence. Although those orchestral dances are now history, residents still dress in formal attire for the occasion.
As in previous years, a photo corner will be set up in Saregile square from 7:00 PM for two hours. Those who wish can step onto a small stage to have their picture taken. These images will be available on Sunday on the website Zumaiaguka.eus.
Music will also play a significant role. At 7:00 PM, the Kita del Pare band will perform a street parade. Starting at 10:00 PM in Beheko Plaza, La Banda del Pop will play 80s cover songs, followed by DJ sets from Oizeder Mayo and Oihan Vega.
