The Spring Mountain Week, organized by the Lagun Onak mountain club, has commenced in Elgoibar, featuring climber Josu Merino, the brothers Iker and Eneko Pou, and mountaineer Mikel Lizarralde.

Climber Josu Merino kicked off the event with a talk at the Mendietxe museum, where he recounted his experiences on rock faces around the world.
Today, it will be the turn of brothers Iker and Eneko Pou. The renowned duo from Vitoria has been engaged in challenges against natural elements, and they will present their spectacular narrative titled 'The Challenge of the Four Elements' at the Soreasu theater at 7:00 PM.
Tomorrow, Mikel Lizarralde from Eibar will share his story. Despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis eight years ago, he has continued to practice sports and maintain his connection with the mountains. He has documented his journey since his diagnosis in the 'Zazpi' project and has also created a documentary with fellow locals Pello Osoro and Maite Arroitajauregi Mursego. The session will take place at Mendietxe, starting at 7:00 PM.

Unique experiences in mountaineering and climbing will be shared.

Furthermore, next Sunday, the last Sunday in May, the Lagun Onak mountain club will celebrate Xoxote Day. The meeting point is at the main square at 9:00 AM, from where participants will ascend to the summit together. Upon arrival, there will be a mass at 12:00 PM and a floral offering at 12:45 PM, followed by the distribution of medals among the youngsters and a communal paella meal at the refuge.
