On April 24, Durango will host an innovative scenic proposal titled “Itzali eta Piztu,” blending live electronic music and improvised bertsolaritza at Plateruena, with free admission for all attendees.

Next Friday, April 24, Plateruena in Durango will host a unique scenic proposal that combines tradition and avant-garde under the title “Itzali eta Piztu.” The event will start at 8:00 PM and will offer free admission, aiming to make this cultural experience accessible to a wide audience.
This project presents a new musical vision based on the collaboration between live electronic music and improvised bertsolaritza. These two disciplines, which have developed independently until now, will come together to think, create, and perform with flexibility and freedom.
Seven creators will gather on stage. The electronic music will be led by Manex Pagola and Aner Peritz, while the bertsolaritza will be performed by Nerea Ibarzabal, Aroa Arrizubieta, Miren Artetxe, and Ekhiñe Zapiain. The team is completed by Ainhoa Urien, who will act as the moderator, guiding the development of the improvisations.
The artistic proposal delves into the styles and sounds characteristic of current electronic music, bringing its structures and melodies to the realm of bertsolaritza. The bertsolaris will improvise over a renewed and adapted melodic base, reinterpreting songs by important artists from the current electronic scene and adjusting them to the specific metrics of verse. In this way, genres such as reggaeton, reggae, ballads, cumbia, or pop are transformed into new improvised oral expressions.
One of the main focuses of the show is the reinterpretation of traditional heritage. The melodies from the bertsolaritza legacy will be renewed through electronic music, adapting them to new rhythms and incorporating vocal effects, thus creating a bridge between the past and the present.
