Elkano neighborhood celebrates San Pedro festivities from June 28 to July 5

The Elkano neighborhood is gearing up to celebrate San Pedro festivities from June 28 to July 5, with a packed schedule of events.

The Elkano neighborhood, like other towns and districts, will hold its San Pedro festivities at the end of June. Specifically, the celebrations will run from June 28 to July 5, featuring a diverse range of activities including a barbecue, a tortilla contest, sports events, and traditional Basque music dances (romerías).
The festivities will kick off on Sunday, June 28, at 8:00 PM with the traditional 'txupinazo' (opening rocket), accompanied by fireworks and bells. The following day, San Pedro's Day, will begin with a potato tortilla competition, followed by musical entertainment from trikitilaris Izer and Alabier. At midday, a communal paella lunch will be held; tickets will be available for purchase on June 21 at the neighborhood's community center, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The adult menu is priced at 23 euros, and the children's menu at 10 euros.
On Friday, July 3, a barbecue will take place at the fronton court, with DJ Indate providing music later in the evening. Saturday, July 4, will feature a neighborhood dinner. Tickets for the dinner will be sold on June 21 and 28 at the community center, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and on other days, they can be purchased at the Gazteategi bar. The adult menu costs 30 euros, and the children's menu is 15 euros.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday, July 5, with sports competitions and a romería.
