The Bartolome Ertzilla Symphony Orchestra of Durango will perform its second concert on Friday, April 24, at 7:00 PM at San Agustin Kultur Gunea, solidifying the symphonic project initiated last academic year.

This concert, organized by the Bartolome Ertzilla Music School and Professional Conservatory of Durango, is part of the consolidation of the symphonic project that the center began the previous academic year. After several months of collaborative work between students and faculty, the orchestra gave its first concert on March 22, 2025, at the Church of San Francisco, receiving a notable reception and public success.
The recorded success and high attendance have led to the celebration of this second performance, which continues the initiative. The Bartolome Ertzilla Symphony Orchestra is characterized by bringing together instruments from all families of the symphonic realm and integrating students from almost all instrumental specialties of the center. In total, approximately 45 students aged 11 and older participate, reflecting the inclusive and formative nature of the project.
Furthermore, the group includes the participation of former students trained at the school and conservatory, who remain actively involved in music. This collaboration responds to one of the project's initial objectives: to involve both current students and those who have passed through the center, thus strengthening the local musical network. Additionally, the initiative remains open to the incorporation of other musicians and musical entities from the Duranguesado region.
The orchestra is directed by Irati Ortubia, who emphasizes that the main purpose of this proposal is to create an ensemble that integrates as many musical areas of the center as possible. This objective is complemented by the desire to ensure its continuity over time and to consolidate a stable symphonic formation in Durango, a goal that, in its second year, is already perceived as a long-term sustainable reality.
Regarding the repertoire, the concert will include various orchestral works, notably the premiere of a composition by Ander Erzilla, a teacher and composer from the center itself.
