The Abadiño City Council has organized a documentary screening and a round table discussion at the San Agustín Cultural Center in Durango this Wednesday at 7:00 PM, as part of the landscape restoration plan for the Atxarte quarries.

The event will take place this Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the San Agustín Cultural Center in Durango. The Abadiño City Council is developing a special plan for the landscape restoration of the Atxarte quarries, in collaboration with a research team. The main goal is to recover a currently degraded environment and transform it into a vibrant space integrated into the Urkiola Natural Park.

"The aim is to put the area at the service of the public, providing it with social and cultural value, and creating a dynamic meeting point compatible with environmental conservation."

Following the screening, a round table discussion will be held with experts from various fields, aiming to address the topic from a broader and more diverse perspective. The session will be moderated by a member of Ekopol and will feature the participation of the documentary's director, an engineer, and a geologist, among others.
Through this initiative, the goal is to foster collective reflection at a regional level, ensuring that the re-naturalization process is not limited to a single municipality and incorporates the voices of both stakeholders and citizens from across Durangaldea.
The participation program Atxarte osatzen has provided the public with informative sessions, workshops, surveys, visits to the quarry, and digital channels for inquiries and proposals. The website www.atxarteosatzen.eus contains updated information on the participatory process. Additionally, the survey will remain open until May 14.

"With this session in Durango, we aim to expand and open the participatory process, currently underway by the research team, to the entire region."
