The N-I highway near Lasarte-Oria is experiencing six kilometers of traffic jams after two cars collided, leaving one of the two lanes closed. The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 AM heading towards Irun. For reasons under investigation, two vehicles collided without any personal injuries reported, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security.
Upon receiving the alert, emergency services were dispatched to the scene. There, they managed to establish traffic flow through one lane, the right one, to avoid a complete closure of the road.
The work carried out allowed the roadway to be cleared around 8:00 AM, although this did not immediately resolve the queues, which had extended to six kilometers in the direction of Donostia.
