Pelota week at Gurea fronton with Iker Epelde in the final

The Gurea fronton in Azkoitia will host thirteen handball and four-and-a-half court pelota matches from Thursday to Sunday, featuring Epelde's paddle final.

The Gurea fronton in Azkoitia is gearing up for a vibrant week of pelota activity, with thirteen matches scheduled from Thursday to Sunday, including local player Iker Epelde's participation in the paddle final.

Pelota players from the Oteiza club will be playing several home matches this week in the handball doubles and four-and-a-half court pelota championships. From tomorrow, Thursday, until Sunday, thirteen matches can be witnessed at the Gurea fronton in Azkoitia.
Among all these matches, one significant event stands out: Iker Epelde, last week, won the semifinal of the first-division rubber paddle championship of Gipuzkoa at Gurea against an opponent from the Errepala team (25-9), thus qualifying for the final. Epelde will play the final against an opponent from the Beotibar team; it will take place at home, at the Gurea fronton, starting at 11:00 AM on Sunday.
Furthermore, the list of matches to be played this week at Gurea is extensive. On Thursday, starting at 7:15 PM, there will be two first-division four-and-a-half court championship matches for adults: the encounter between Jon Juaristi and B. Gorostidi (Zazpi Itturri), and that between J. Oteiza and E. Gorostidi (Zazpi Itturri).
On Friday, starting at 5:30 PM, several matches for children and youth categories will be played. Among them, a handball doubles match of the second-division children's Udaberri Championship (J. Diaz and A. Garate - Tolosa 4), another of the third-division children's (A. Iturralde and A. Huerta - Añorga), and one more of the second-division children's (E. Juaristi and X. Arana - Urnieta 1). In the first-division youth four-and-a-half court championship, Julen Etxaniz and Perez (LAPKE) will compete, and in the first-division adult category, Aitor Oteiza and Armaolea (LAPKE).
On Saturday, starting at 09:30 AM, there will be a second-division youth four-and-a-half court championship match (Imanol Bastida - Segurola (Eibar)), another of the third-division cadet category (Joanes Juaristi - Madina (Hernani)), one of the first-division adult category (Alex Juaristi - Olaizola (Abantzu)), and one of the second-division adult category (Inhar Egaña - Ugarte (Aloña Mendi)). In the afternoon, at 4:00 PM, a match of the Berezkoen Championship for the junior category will be played: the encounter between Traore (Behar Zana) and Lur Juaristi.
