The deadline for submitting applications and supporting documents for the grant will remain open until October 31. The grant aims to honor the Errenteria-born philologist Koldo Mitxelena and promote research into the town's history.
The theme for the 2026 call will be ‘Research on migration processes in Errenteria during the 20th and 21st centuries’, within the field of human and social sciences.
The winning individual or group will receive a grant of 15,000 euros and will have 18 months to conduct the research. Applications can be submitted individually or as a group, and research projects must be original, unpublished, and in Basque.
Furthermore, the grant will implement positive actions to encourage research in Basque conducted by women and/or trans individuals.
