The educational and social cycle of the Orkestra-Euskadi, Musika Gela, reaffirms its commitment to bringing symphonic music closer to children, young people, and various communities from a creative, inclusive, and participatory perspective in the 26/27 season. The new cycle includes five original productions, some presented in previous seasons and others premiering, such as ‘Aniztasuna harmonian’ and ‘Brassstorm’.
In total, over 70 activities have been organized, including the third edition of the ‘Musikazaleak’ workshops, in collaboration with FEVAS-Plena Inclusion Euskadi, and the Open Rehearsals aimed at communities and schools. The cycle will also celebrate the figure of Juan Crisostomo de Arriaga and female creation, under the direction of Bilbao-born Maite Aurrekoetxea.
To ensure full accessibility, the cantata ‘Logelan logale’ will be offered to deaf children with sign language interpretation. The show ‘Arriaga bizi da’ will feature a relaxed performance, and the concert ‘Brassstorm’ aims to connect with young people by analyzing the influence of society and trends.
The Musikazaleak program, in collaboration with FEVAS-Plena Inclusion Euskadi, will continue to promote musical practice for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Additionally, the Open Rehearsals initiative will bring the orchestra's work closer to schools and social groups.
Reivindication, inclusion, equality, participation, discovery, and emotion are the key elements of a program designed to make the musical experience shared and accessible to everyone. The five original productions—‘Arriaga bizi da’, ‘Logelan logale’, ‘Aniztasuna harmonian’, ‘Mozart, Nannerl eta lagunak’, and ‘Brassstorm’—will be presented in two formats: School Concerts and Family Concerts.
The School Concerts will involve approximately 7,000 students, and the Family Concerts cycle has a 30-year history. Ticket prices will range from 3 to 8 euros and can be purchased on the website euskadikoorkestra.eus.
