The Jantziaren Zentroa in Errenteria has opened its new 'Moda & Design' exhibition, which explores the historical and social evolution of clothing between 1900 and 1980 and will be on display until September 27.

Located in Kapitain Etxea, the museum features eight outfits that illustrate the aesthetic and social shifts of the 20th century. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey from the sinuous lines of Art Nouveau to the geometry of Art Déco, while also highlighting the simplicity and industrial production of the mid-century.
The center's staff explains that the exhibition aims to show how historical events, such as the world wars and the post-war period, directly impacted society, influencing fashion, furniture, and architecture. Each garment is accompanied by large panels summarizing the design, period furniture photography, and color trends.

"Historical changes have had a direct impact on society, which has been reflected in aspects such as clothing, furniture, architecture, and sculpture."

The museum will be updating its permanent collection between June 13 and 28, during which time the first and second floors of Kapitain Etxea will be closed. However, special guided tours will be organized on June 20 to allow visitors to see the behind-the-scenes installation work.
Registration is required for these guided tours through the local tourism office. The main exhibition is free to the public and is open on Saturdays from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, and on Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 14:00.
