The Errenteria City Council will hold a new edition of San Marko Eguna this Sunday, April 26, in the vicinity of the San Marcos fort, a festive day that will combine tradition, popular culture, and citizen participation.

As in previous years, the event's organization has involved various local agents, including Beti Prest, Doike Musika eta Dantza Kultur Elkartea, the town's trikitilaris, Xenpelar Bertso Eskola, and the Zamalbide Neighborhood Association. The shared goal is to consolidate a participatory day open to all citizens, highlighting the cultural activity these entities carry out throughout the year and strengthening the local associative fabric.
The program will run throughout the day, starting at 10:00 AM with the traditional pilgrimage march from Foru Plaza to the fort, accompanied by trikitilaris. At 11:15 AM, the last ascent will take place, followed by rural sport exhibitions at 11:30 AM. The programming will continue with music and dance performances by Doike and Beti Prest (12:30 PM), a bertsos session organized by Xenpelar Bertso Eskola (1:30 PM), and children's games starting at 2:30 PM. The day will conclude with a hot chocolate event at 4:30 PM, organized by the Zamalbide Neighborhood Association.
In addition to the cultural activities, the venue will feature a local products market, with food stalls outside the fort and space for artisanal products inside. A canteen managed by the neighborhood association will also be set up, offering food and drink service throughout the day. This space will help reinforce the popular character of the event, fostering coexistence and community gathering in a festive atmosphere. In case of adverse weather conditions, activities will be moved inside the fort to ensure their continuation.
Regarding mobility and to facilitate access, a special bus service will be enabled between Morrongilleta street and San Marcos, with frequencies of 20 minutes in the morning and 40 minutes in the afternoon, allowing for more sustainable and organized mobility during the celebration. Traffic restrictions will also be applied between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM around the fort. Access from the Bizarain ikastola roundabout to the ascent to San Marcos will be closed, as well as the track section from the Zamalbide neighborhood. The Local Police will issue specific authorizations for residents and people with disability cards. As an alternative, a parking area will be set up in the courtyard of Bizarain Ikastola, operating between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, although private vehicle use is discouraged.
