Urnieta hosted eight students and three teachers from Troisdorf, Germany, affiliated with the Georg Kerchenstein school. For a week, the visitors immersed themselves in the Basic Vocational Training classrooms at Salesianos Urnieta as part of an educational exchange program.
The group focused on the specialties of Graphic Arts and Commercial Services. This hands-on experience allowed the visiting students and teachers to gain firsthand insight into the work methodology, organization, and daily operations of the Initial Vocational Training offered at the Salesian center in Urnieta.
The educational center in Urnieta boasts nearly 15 years of experience in Basic Vocational Training. "With internationalization as a strategic objective, it is essential to have a presence at all stages of Vocational Training," explain Ander Loyarte and Nerea Lizartza, coordinators of the Internationalization area. They emphasized that the experience was "very positive" both academically and personally, fostering interculturality, coexistence, and the use of English as a common language.
Salesianos Urnieta has been actively strengthening its internationalization efforts in recent years. Beyond sending students to European companies, the center has hosted numerous teachers and students to share work methodologies and experiences. The visit from the German group is the latest example of this ongoing strategy.
