The main hall of Kulturate in Arrasate hosted this afternoon the awards ceremony for the 39th edition of the Arrasate Literary Competitions, where young people who have explored literature in various formats were honored.

This initiative, organized by AED, received 379 entries this year, posing a significant challenge for the jury in selecting the winners. Narrative was the category with the highest participation, with 206 works, followed by illustrations (68), bertso-paperak (78), micro-stories (17), and poetry and comics (four each).
Before the awards were presented, as is tradition, attendees heard words from a guest writer. This year, the responsibility fell to the writer and bertsolari from Eskoriatza, Oihana Arana. As she was unable to attend the event, members of AED read her message addressed to the finalists.

"What you do is important. Words may not change the world, but they beautify it, and that is a great thing. Keep playing with words, telling stories to those around you, reading books before falling asleep..."
