The Ospitalarioak Fundazioa Euskadi has celebrated one of the most significant dates in its institutional calendar in Arrasate: Saint Benedict Menni Day. This commemoration honors the founder of the institution, established over 125 years ago.
The activities began on Thursday with a floral offering at the statue of Saint Benedict Menni in the church of San Juan Bautista, an event attended by professionals and patients of the organization. The celebration continued on Friday with a Eucharist in the hospital church, located in the Gesalibar neighborhood.
This symbolic day also serves to highlight the current dimension and role of the Ospitalarioak Fundazioa Euskadi. It is a specialized network operating in Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia through 16 centers and facilities, consolidating itself as an essential resource in the healthcare and social-healthcare system for the care of people with complex health situations. Its work covers areas such as mental health, brain injury, intellectual disability and ASD, care for the elderly, social-healthcare attention, and technical aids for dependency.
In Arrasate, the organization's history maintains a close link with the community and the municipality, where the institution continues to develop a significant part of its care activity. Saint Benedict Menni Day allows for remembering this legacy, recognizing the daily work of its professionals, and reaffirming a fully current commitment: to offer specialized, close, and sustained care to people experiencing complex health situations.
