In Oñati, a new book has been released that delves into the historical evolution of the local Basque language, the culmination of a seven-year research project distinguishing between the past and present forms of the language in the town.

Following the publication of previous works, Araoztarrak I and Araoztarrak II, a new book titled Oñatiko Euskara Zaharra (Old Basque of Oñati) has been released. This publication focuses on the evolution of the Basque language in Oñati, differentiating between its older and newer variants.
The book is based on testimonies gathered from various research projects and interviews available on the Ahotsak.eus portal. The author spent seven years systematically collecting this information. Although initially intending to publish it in dictionary format, the author ultimately chose a book format, noting that it more closely resembles a report.
This work is the first part of a broader project, published under the subtitle Apunteak I (Notes I). The author's intention is to continue publishing more notes in the future. To this end, the author has expressed interest in receiving contributions, corrections, and comments from readers, and has provided an email address for this purpose.
The book can be purchased at Altuna Estankoa in Oñati for 12 euros. Additionally, it is available for reading in the publications section of the Oñati City Council's website.
