The Oñati Experience Room has commenced the 2026-2027 academic year, promoting active leisure for citizens over 55 years old.

The Oñati Experience Room project has been realized within the framework of the collaboration agreement signed by the City Council and Goienagusi in 2023. The initiative's goal is to foster active leisure, extending the training program that Goienagusi primarily developed in Bergara and Arrasate to Oñati.
The Experience Room is aimed at citizens over 55 years old. Activities are carried out through bi-weekly talks organized in the Santa Ana hall. Furthermore, by becoming a member of Goienagusi, participants can engage in other activities organized by the association and talks offered in nearby towns. The annual membership fee is 80 euros and grants access to all of Goienagusi's courses, outings, and talks.
Five talks have already been scheduled for the coming months: on October 28th, Mattin Aiestaran will speak about the rich archaeological site of Irulegiko; on November 18th, Aintzane Erkizia will provide insights into what artworks reveal; on November 25th, Itziar Txurruka will discuss gluten; on December 9th, Itziar Navarrok will talk about the December rounds in Bizkaia; and on January 27th, the Oñati resident Hellen Carr will give a talk on healthy and sustainable nutrition. All talks will take place in the Santa Ana hall, starting at 10:00 AM, preceded by a coffee meeting at 9:30 AM in the hall's foyer.
The collaboration agreement signed by Goienagusi and the Oñati City Council in November 2023 has been extended year after year. This latest extension will cover the 2026-2027 academic year and will last until May 30th of next year. To support this year's activities, the City Council will provide a grant of 2,410 euros to the Goienagusi Cultural Association.
