Four choirs participated last Saturday in the competition held in Burgos. The Oñati choir, despite performing fourth, did well for both the conductor and the jury, as indicated by Aitor Biain. At the awards ceremony, the Ganbara choir received 3,000 euros and a trophy.
They have also earned a spot to compete in the National Grand Prix of Choral Singing, scheduled for March next year in Granada. This engagement will necessitate adjustments to the academic year's planning, Biain mentioned, emphasizing their enthusiasm.
It is noteworthy that the Ganbara Choir had previously won this Antonio José competition in Burgos 10 years ago, in 2016. In this year's edition, the Cantabrian group Coro Joven de Santander came in second place, and the Asturian group Ensamble vocal de Gijón, third. The Cantabrian choir also received the audience award.
