Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa (MGEP) will open its campus garden to the public as part of the PlazaBizi initiative, merging nature and education.

The initiative aims to make the MGEP garden a meeting point and learning space for the community. To achieve this, physical and digital resources have been designed to identify and explain the main tree species, offering information in an understandable and inclusive manner. The design prioritizes accessibility, considering the needs of individuals with different disabilities.
The first phase of the project involved adapting the garden and selecting trees based on botanical and forestry criteria. Subsequently, content about the garden's species has been developed, and new informational signs have been designed. These signs are available not only in standard formats but also in Braille, ensuring information accessibility for everyone.
Guided tours will take place throughout May 2026 and will be aimed at various audiences: MGEP students and staff, Herri Eskola, Arizmendi Ikastola, local associations, and the general public. These activities aim to promote the campus's natural value, environmental awareness, and the community use of public spaces.
Additionally, the project includes a general botanical map of the garden, allowing visitors to explore the space autonomously. This intervention aligns with PLAZABIZI's main objectives: building community and creating spaces, thereby strengthening the relationship between nature and citizens.
On May 27th, two tours will be offered for local associations, neighbors, and the general public. One at 5:00 PM in Spanish and another at 6:00 PM in Basque. Those interested in attending must register by writing to info@plazabizi.
