The Pentekostes festivities in Bergara will take place from May 22 to 26, featuring new locations this year due to ongoing urbanization works. The Lokatza Ziklismo Eskola will be in charge of launching the chupinazo, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

This year's Pentekostes in Bergara will see changes in the locations for the festival program, as the Plaza cannot be used due to urbanization works. Consequently, the main activities will be relocated to Oxirondo Plaza, where the txosnas will also be situated, in front of the market. The collaboration between the municipal committee and the Xaxau Konpartsa has been strengthened to offer a program “for all audiences and tastes,” as stated at yesterday's presentation.
The festival budget has increased to 170,000 euros, and the celebrations will begin on May 22 at 8:00 PM, with the chupinazo led by the Lokatza Ziklismo Eskola on its 50th anniversary. The descent of Bitorianatxo will also change its route, descending from the tower of Santa Marina to the main stage in Oxirondo. In total, nearly fifty events are planned for 98 hours of festivities, from May 22 until 10:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26, when the queen of the Pentekostes returns to the top of the tower.
Many of the usual events from the Plaza will be moved to the Espolón, such as the cod fish competition and the gathering of giant parades. The cuadrillas' meal on Monday will also take place in this park, and in case of rain, they will move to the tent of the San Martin Agirre Herri Eskola. The main concert stage in Oxirondo will host Brigade Loco on Friday, Neomak on Saturday, Anje Duhalde on Sunday, and Mugi Panderoa on Tuesday. The txosnas program will feature Zartada, Malko, Marte Lasarte, No Limits, Sedienteos de Cumbia, and DDX, among others.
The Bergarako Musika Banda will perform the parade of the descent starting from Oxirondo, and on Sunday, at 12:30 PM, will offer a concert in the Espolón. The rural sport events on Pentekostes Tuesday will move to Ariznoa Plaza. The fifth edition of the urban climbing competition Mokoloblock will take place on May 22 from 5:30 PM, starting in Munibe. Registration is open until May 17, as are the family-friendly scape rooms on May 23 and 24.
Registrations for the cod fish competition, which will bring together twelve pairs, and for the Bitorianatxo zip line on May 26, which sold out its 90 available spots in a few hours, are already complete. All these proposals, along with the bullocks, fairground rides, and other classics, are included in the festival program that will be distributed soon. The cover image is the winning poster from the competition, created by Maddi Martin Olaskoaga, a 20-year-old communication and design student, who described her work as “very colorful” and reflecting “the most important characters of the Pentekostes and the neighborhood participating in the festivities.”
