The Ermua City Council has organized the educational short video contest 'Ermua mundua da!', aiming to promote and familiarize citizens with the correct Basque declensions of the municipality's name.

This initiative seeks to highlight appropriate forms such as Ermuan, Ermura, Ermutik, or Ermuko, in contrast to other commonly misused forms. The competition is open to individuals aged 12 and above, who can participate individually or in groups.
Submissions must be original and unpublished videos, with a maximum duration of two minutes, produced in Basque and in digital format (avi, mov, mp4, or GIF). The submission period is open until April 26, and proposals should be sent via the tori.eus platform or to the email address euskara@ermua.eus, along with the corresponding registration form. For minors, parental or guardian authorization will be required.
A total of 600 euros will be distributed in prizes across two categories. The main prize of 400 euros will be decided by a jury comprising members from the Basque Language Department, the Basque Language Commission, IES Ermua, and the Berbalagun program. The public's prize, worth 200 euros, will be chosen through a citizen vote on the Barrena.eus website, after the finalists have been selected.
As is customary, voting will remain open for three weeks after the submission deadline. Winners will be announced via the municipal portal www.ermua.eus. Organizers remind participants that videos must respect the image rights of individuals and cannot include offensive content.
