Under the guidance of new coach Ander Treviño, the Haundi men's team has begun the season with a victory. The white-and-reds secured a 1-2 win against Beti Gazte in the match played at the Maistegi football field in Lesaka. Iker Iglesiasek scored the Elgoibar team's first goal in the 35th minute, and Unai Arriolak extended the lead in the 71st minute. Yeray Gerometak scored the home team's goal in the 78th minute.
The Haundi team will play its first home game this Saturday at Mintxeta, at 4:30 PM, facing Mondragon. The Arrasate team drew 1-1 against Bergara in the first round.
The women's team will also start their season this Saturday at 6:30 PM in Mintxeta, following the men's match. They will compete against Urola. The team coached by Andoni Duarte and Alex Zala finished last season in third place, having contended for promotion spots for several weeks.
Furthermore, the second men's team will commence its regional league championship this weekend. They will face the Eibar team, Urki, on Sunday, September 20th, in the derby match to be held at Mintxeta at 6:30 PM.
The weekend match schedule for the CD Elgoibar teams is as follows: On Saturday, September 19th, at Mintxeta, the Haundi men's (1) will play against Mondragon (4:30 PM) and the Haundi women's will play against Urola (6:30 PM). Additionally, various other matches will take place in lower divisions and at away grounds.
On Sunday, September 20th, the Elgoibar B team will face Urki at Mintxeta (6:30 PM).
