Eibar is set to celebrate International Dance Day on Friday, April 24, transforming its streets into open stages where local academies and groups will showcase the city's diverse artistic styles.

Eibar will become a vibrant showcase of dance and movement on Friday, April 24, in observance of International Dance Day. This event will bring local academies, schools, and collectives to the streets to display the richness and plurality of styles coexisting in the city.
The initiative, organized by the City Council in collaboration with the local dance community, will turn various urban spaces into open stages for citizens. The program will serve as a preview for the international day, which is celebrated annually on April 29, but this year's main festive day will be on Friday.
Music, movement, and open-air exhibitions will mark an afternoon designed not only to watch choreographies but also to bring dance closer to the entire population and acknowledge the constant work carried out throughout the year by the various groups from Eibar. The exhibitions will take place at different points in the municipality, bringing together dancers of all ages.

"Dance is a cultural expression that unites generations, transmits values, and has a solid foundation in Eibar thanks to the constant work of our academies and collectives."

The routes will start from Urkizu, Ego-gain, and Ipurua, converging in Unzaga. This approach aims to extend the celebration to different neighborhoods and, at the same time, invite the public to join the movement throughout the city. The groups themselves called for participation, reminding everyone that it is not necessary to know how to dance to join the festive atmosphere, as the important thing is the willingness to participate.
The day will conclude with a popular romería led by the group Begi Bide, putting the finishing touch to an afternoon where dance will be the main protagonist. With this program, Eibar will once again transform the street into a shared cultural space and reaffirm the value of an activity that combines training, creation, interpretation, promotion, and coexistence among its residents.
