The Ertzaintza has arrested two men, aged 35 and 27, this morning in Laudio, accused of stealing from several farmhouses in the Oleta neighborhood between March 27 and April 1.

According to police sources, four robbery complaints were registered in the aforementioned neighborhood. Investigations carried out by agents revealed that the thieves entered the homes when they were unoccupied, forcing shutters and breaking windows, in some cases using hammers and other tools found on site.
The Ertzaintza explained that all collected evidence suggested the robberies were committed by the same individuals, which allowed them to identify and arrest the two men. The detainees have been taken to police headquarters and will be handed over to judicial authorities shortly.
Separately, Aiaraldea Komunikabidea spoke with five residents from the Oleta, Motxotekale, and Lusurbeirlanda neighborhoods. They reported having suffered approximately ten robberies since March 26, despite the Ertzaintza only registering four complaints. The latest incident occurred this past Tuesday.
According to residents, the thieves primarily targeted empty buildings and second homes. They mostly stole copper and other metallic elements, but also other items such as watches or jewelry. In one of these cases, a security camera in a home recorded two individuals, and these images were provided to the Ertzaintza. Furthermore, residents have met several times with the City Council and the police station chief in recent days.
