The Arrankudiaga-Zollo City Council has concluded the renovation of the Atxeta social center and the adaptation of the adjacent premises, creating two new spaces that will soon be available to residents.

The Arrankudiaga-Zollo City Council has renovated the social center in Atxeta and also adapted the adjacent premises, doubling the infrastructure's surface area. As a result of these works, two complementary spaces will soon be available to citizens. The total investment amounted to 193,953.51 euros, of which 134,704.00 euros were funded by a grant from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia's funds for cultural facilities.
Among the works carried out, doors and windows have been replaced to ensure adequate thermal and acoustic insulation. Likewise, both premises have been painted, and the floor, ceiling, and electrical installation have been renewed. New restrooms have also been adapted on both sides, ensuring universal accessibility.
Following a participatory process, the residents of Atxeta have defined the uses for the two spaces. The existing center will maintain its role as a daily meeting point or hub, complete with its own kitchen. The adjacent premises, of similar size, have been converted into an open-plan space serving as a community cultural hall. Both areas are complementary and are considered essential facilities for revitalizing cohesion and community life in the Atxeta-Zuloaga neighborhood.
Although the works are finished, the spaces are not yet open to the public. As Mayor Txutxi Ariznabarreta explained to Aiaraldea Komunikabidea, the City Council will meet with residents during the first week of September to determine the inauguration date.
