Man Arrested in Bermeo for Beating Two Youths and Stealing a Watch

The 20-year-old detainee, with multiple prior offenses, was apprehended carrying the stolen watch, which has been returned to its owner.

The Ertzaintza arrested a 20-year-old man this past Sunday in Bermeo after an assault on two other youths in the Old Town, from whom a watch was stolen.

Around half past seven on Sunday morning, the Gernika police station was alerted to an altercation in the Old Town of Bermeo where a group of youths had assaulted two adolescents.
Police resources dispatched to the scene, in collaboration with the local police of Bermeo, assisted the victims, who presented various injuries and required medical attention.
After searching the vicinity, officers intercepted one of the suspects who matched the description provided by the victims and was carrying the stolen watch. The watch was returned to its owner. Furthermore, upon identification, it was confirmed that he also had an active arrest warrant for a pending judicial requirement.
After arresting the 20-year-old man, he was taken to police facilities to complete the necessary procedures. The detainee, who has numerous police records, was brought before the court on Monday morning. Additionally, three other young men were identified by Ertzaintza patrols for their alleged involvement in the incident.
