A political party spokesperson in Bizkaia has described the recent tension between PNV and PSE as "theatrics," a recurring pre-election strategy where disputes transform into agreements once election results are known.

A political party spokesperson in Bizkaia has described the recent crisis between PNV and PSE as a "farce" and "very blatant theatrics." According to the spokesperson, this staging repeats before every election, "it doesn't matter, whether it's over a meme or a phrase," the alliance resumes as soon as the elections pass. "It's very recurrent."
The spokesperson maintains that both parties have to run their own campaigns to avoid "arriving hand in hand until the last minute," but that "they both know perfectly well that as soon as the elections are over, if the numbers add up, they will do it." The representative frames the anger arising from a meme within this strategy, an overacting so that each formation can "stand out" and achieve its own results.

"Both parties have to run their own campaigns to avoid arriving hand in hand until the last minute, but they both know perfectly well that as soon as the elections are over, if the numbers add up, they will do it."

Furthermore, the political party spokesperson has also denounced the "incoherence of PNV and PSE" regarding self-employed workers. While in the General Assemblies of Bizkaia they voted against applying the franchised VAT, a measure proposed by the political party, a few days later they voted in favor of it in the Congress of Deputies at the request of Junts. "It cannot be that if Junts looks out for Catalan self-employed workers and the nationalist party facilitates their success, they leave those in Bizkaia stranded."
This measure, a European directive, would allow self-employed workers who invoice less than 85,000 euros annually not to be obliged to pass on VAT in their invoices. The spokesperson has demanded that the PNV "apologize to the self-employed workers of Bizkaia" and rectify the situation, as they are currently "still overwhelmed" by tax pressure.
The interview also addressed the situation of people with disabilities in Bizkaia, who are forced to go to Cantabria or La Rioja to practice sports after the age of 21. "It's terrible," lamented the spokesperson, who explained that up to that age, school sports are covered, but afterwards, the doors of municipal sports centers "are closed to them."
