The municipality of Galdakao has joined the Kirolur Challenge 2026, an initiative by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia aimed at fostering healthy lifestyle habits among its residents through physical activity.

The Kirolur Challenge 2026 is a new project launched by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia to promote healthy living habits among the province's citizens. It is an inter-municipal competition open to all individuals over 14 years of age, seeking to encourage residents to be more active in their daily lives, "focusing on the collective sum of efforts".
The Galdakao City Council has decided to participate in this initiative. Through the Wellk mobile application, participants can register their sports activities, whether walking, running, swimming, or cycling, accumulating points for their towns, which will be added to the overall count. The challenge will unfold in three periods: the first between April 15 and May 17, the second in summer, from June 15 to July 15, and the last between September 23 and October 23.
To join, simply download the free application, register, and select Galdakao as your municipality. From that moment, all physical activity undertaken will be recorded. The challenge offers various incentives to participants, both individually, upon reaching certain scores, and collectively. Towns that rank in the top positions will receive aid to strengthen and support the work of their sports clubs. The Galdakao City Council emphasizes that the project aligns with its strategy of "promoting a healthy lifestyle" and encourages its residents to take part.
