Digitalization continues to gain ground in Bizkaia. Internet presence, electronic procedures, and online commerce are growing among companies in the historical territory, positioning several of its regions among the most advanced in Euskadi in various fields. In Bilbao, 38.9% of companies with ten or more employees already use e-commerce for purchases or sales, according to the latest data published by Eustat.

Furthermore, 92.9% of Basque establishments with ten or more employees now have a website. In Bizkaia, digital adoption is practically widespread and stands at very high levels across all regions.

Durangaldea ranks among the most active regions in Euskadi in this area, with 43.7% of companies conducting online purchases and sales, trailing only Gipuzkoa's Bajo Deba. In Bilbao, the percentage stands at 38.9%.

Digitalization is also reflected in the increasing presence of the Basque language (euskera) on corporate websites. In Bizkaia, 45.1% of companies with a website offer their content in Basque. However, the highest percentage in the territory is recorded in Markina-Ondarroa, where 71.4% of companies also have their website in Basque. In total, five of the seven Biscayan regions exceed 55%.

Beyond online presence, Bizkaia's companies are increasingly adopting advanced digital tools. Gernika-Bermeo leads in the use of social media for business purposes, with 78.1%, and also stands out in adopting paid cloud services, with 62.3%, as well as hiring IT specialists.

Big Data analysis is most prevalent in the Gran Bilbao area, where 28.4% of larger companies use these tools for decision-making.

Overall, Eustat's data paints a picture where business digitalization in Bizkaia is now structural and transversal. Beyond the metropolitan area, regions within the territory are consolidating their role in various technological indicators, confirming the spread of these processes throughout the entire region.
