Bizkaia has been basking in summer-like heat for the past few weeks, virtually skipping spring. On Wednesday, Bilbao recorded 25 degrees, with minimums not dropping below 14 degrees. This pleasant weather, enjoyed by many taking a break during Easter week, is forecast to continue until Friday.
For Thursday, temperatures will remain similar, with a maximum of 22 degrees and a minimum of 12 in Bilbao. The absence of clouds means that, despite a northerly wind, the sun will make it feel warm. According to Euskalmet's predictions, only a few medium and high clouds are expected, and some fog banks may form in certain areas in the morning.
On Friday, the situation will intensify, feeling as if it were mid-July. Maximums of 26 degrees are expected in the Biscayan capital, while minimums will stay around 12 degrees. The prevailing sensation will be a mix of discomfort and disbelief, especially during the central hours of the day, creating a typically summer atmosphere in April, perfect for a beach day. Inland areas will also experience significant heat.
However, the weather will make a 180-degree turn in just 24 hours. According to Aemet, a generalized drop in temperatures is forecast for Bizkaia on Saturday. Temperatures will plummet from 26 degrees to a maximum of 18 and a minimum of 8. Furthermore, widespread rain is expected, bringing back an autumnal feel, making it impossible to go out without an umbrella.
On Sunday, the cold will intensify further, with a maximum of only 14 degrees and minimums remaining at eight degrees across various points in the province. To complete the bleak outlook, intense and widespread precipitation is expected throughout Sunday, making the good weather enjoyed just two days prior seem like a distant dream. For Monday, a similar thermal situation is anticipated, though with less rain due to the appearance of some clear spells late in the day.
