Bizkaia Nears Spain's Highest Temperature with 30 Degrees Celsius

The territory of Bizkaia endured temperatures close to 30 degrees Celsius on Easter Monday, nearly matching Spain's national high with 30.1 degrees recorded in Forua.

A sweltering Easter Monday was felt across Bizkaia, where temperatures soared to nearly 30 degrees Celsius, ranking among the highest in Spain. The AEMET station in Forua registered 30.1 degrees, just one tenth below the 30.2 degrees recorded at Severiano Ballesteros airport, which was the national maximum.
Bilbao also experienced intense heat, with temperatures approaching 30 degrees, and Loiu airport recorded 29.7 degrees. Other inland locations such as Amorebieta, Balmaseda, and Sopuerta saw similar values. Along the coast, however, areas like Getxo, Sopela, and Bermeo enjoyed slightly milder temperatures, hovering around 24 degrees.
The weekly forecast from Euskalmet and AEMET shows an improvement compared to initial predictions. While rain was initially anticipated from Tuesday onwards, the probability of precipitation is now minimal. Temperatures are expected to be slightly less oppressive, with highs of 26 and 27 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. By Thursday and Friday, thermometers will drop to 23 degrees, before a significant weather change is expected for the weekend, with a notable decrease to around 13 degrees on Sunday, accompanied by abundant rainfall.
