The Basque Government has emphasized the need for individualized care and full guarantees for minors, while reporting over 14,000 applications for family support grants since July.

The Directorate for Children, Adolescents and Families of the Basque Government has reported that the reception system in Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, and Araba is operating beyond its ordinary capacity. Despite this pressure, the quality of care is being maintained, although the institution warns about the difficulty of sustaining these exceptional volumes in the future.
Regarding the situation in Ceuta, the regional government has rejected imposed transfers without sufficient guarantees. The priority, as stated, is the best interest of the child, which involves identifying minors, locating their families, and establishing communication for a possible return before considering any relocation.
In terms of social policy, more than 14,000 applications for aid for families with children aged 0 to 4 have been registered since July 1st. This figure reflects a strong commitment to supporting families as a central pillar of Basque society, according to the Department of Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge.
