The Civil Guard seized 10 kilograms of marijuana on April 12, 2026 at the Biriatou border from a vehicle heading to France, arresting a 33-year-old French national.

The operation took place at exit 0 of the AP-1 highway, when the driver attempted to evade a checkpoint established in the direction of Irun. Agents intercepted the vehicle and, upon inspection, located several packages containing the narcotic substance, totaling 10 kilograms.
The arrested individual, a 33-year-old French citizen residing in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region (Bordeaux), had a history of similar offenses. He was detained as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health.
Subsequently, the suspect was handed over to the courts in Irun to proceed with the corresponding judicial process.
