The 19th Zeanuri Mills March is scheduled for May 10th, aiming to showcase the historical and natural heritage of the municipality. This activity provides a chance to discover the hydraulic mills scattered throughout the Arratia locality, some of which have been restored.
The march will start at 9:00 AM in the town square, in front of the Town Hall. In the first kilometer, participants will pass by the Alcibar mill, and 500 meters further, they will encounter the Errotabarri mill, which was restored in 2015. This will be the first of three mills accessible for visits during the route.
Subsequently, the route will continue for a couple of kilometers along the left bank of the Undurraga reservoir, leading to the Ibargutxi mill. This mill, fully restored, allows those interested to enter and observe its operation and facilities. Afterwards, the route returns to the Undurraga reservoir on the opposite bank, where a refreshment point is located in front of the dam.
After a break, the journey will proceed into the neighborhoods of Otzerinmendi and Uribe, passing by the Intxaurbe, Axpe, and Zulaibar mills. In the final kilometer, the Olabarri mill, also completely restored, will be found. The interior of this mill can also be visited before heading the last 300 meters to the finish line in Zeanuri square.
Participants completing the approximately 14-kilometer route will have had the opportunity to learn about the mill heritage of Zeanuri, enjoying the symphony of colors and scents that nature offers during these spring days. Additionally, to ensure everyone can participate, a shorter 7-kilometer route has been designed, leading from the refreshment point to the finish line, ideal for children or those less physically prepared. This option also allows visits to the Errotabarri and Olabarri mills.
