The Provincial Council of Álava has launched its most extensive summer leisure program for 2026, through the Udalekuak and Gazte Bidaiak initiatives, aimed at children and young people.

This year, the summer leisure offer for children and teenagers in Álava will be the most numerous to date, thanks to the Udalekuak and Gazte Bidaiak programs. The registration period began on March 18 on the website of the Provincial Youth Institute and remained open until March 27.
The Gazte Bidaiak program is designed for young people aged 14 to 17, offering diverse options in both locations and themes. It includes camps across Spain, both coastal and inland, with sports activities such as nautical sports, surfing, or multi-sport. Creative experiences like Gazterock in Vitoria-Gasteiz or performing arts in Hondarribia are also offered. Additionally, there are proposals related to cinema in Cantabria and photography in Madrid. Prices range from 233 to 399 euros, depending on the camp, and all will take place in July.
Meanwhile, the Udalekuak 2026 program offers a broad and varied selection for children aged 7 to 13. It includes environmental activities at farm schools, sports proposals such as canoeing, hiking, or sailing, as well as games, excursions, and workshops. The price for Udalekuak is 146 euros, covering accommodation and full board, animation service, accident and civil liability insurance, and round-trip transportation from Donostia, Bilbao, or Vitoria-Gasteiz to the facilities. The Provincial Council of Álava also provides bonuses for large families and those receiving social aid.
5% of the places are reserved for minors with special needs, supported by specialized associations to ensure their proper integration. Teams for each shift will consist of qualified leisure monitors, management staff, and personnel specialized in specific activities (sailing, windsurfing, etc.). Qualified staff will also be available for the care of minors with disabilities. The public draw will be held on April 16.

"Udalekuak is a playful space for coexistence where boys and girls can strengthen their personal autonomy and enjoy quality educational leisure."
