The Omnia party has called for the resignation of an EH Bildu councillor in the Llodio City Council, citing their «very active participation» in the picket lines during the general strike on March 17.

The opposition group stated that the councillor's involvement was «very serious», arguing that the pickets on that day were not informative but rather aimed at «intimidating» those who chose not to join the strike.

Within the right to strike, there is also the right not to strike.

Omnia made this request during the questions and motions section of the Municipal Plenary Session last Monday. Mayor Ainize Gastaka responded that the request would be received and evaluated, stating that it was not the appropriate moment to «respond to such a significant proposal».
Despite the call for resignation, the Llodio-based Omnia party had supported the general strike on March 17, as well as the joint statement issued by Apill, Izan Amurrio, and Aem. Days before the strike, these three merchant associations published a communiqué indicating that the «majority of the region's third sector» would join the work stoppage, but they requested «respect» for those who decided to «keep their businesses open».
