The Juntas Generales of Álava will open their doors again on Saturday, June 20th, providing an opportunity to learn about the workings of this historic institution. The event will include free guided tours, tastings of local products, and activities for all the family throughout the morning.
From 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, guided tours will be conducted every 15 minutes at the Juntas Generales headquarters, in both Basque and Spanish. Places can be reserved in advance.
Activities will take place both at the Juntas Generales headquarters and on the esplanade of the New Cathedral. Various regional groups from Álava will showcase their tourist attractions, and Slow Food Araba will organize tastings featuring products such as wines, ciders, honeys, and cheeses.
“"This event serves to bring the institution closer to the public and to explain the role of the 'Cuadrillas' in the organization of Álava."
A festive atmosphere will be created by the Giants and Big-Heads figures, accompanied by the Karrika bagpipers, who will parade along Prado street. The Mace-bearer of the Juntas Generales will also welcome visitors at the main entrance.
The guided tours will offer an insight into the institution's internal operations and its contribution to shaping the identity of Álava.
