The Inspirarte association has launched the second edition of its Ménsula project at the Vittoria venue, providing a special platform for artists from Álava, with Blanca Abajo Alda currently exhibiting her work.

The sociocultural association Inspirarte has been developing the Ménsula project since 2025 at the Vittoria facilities, located in the Alto de Armentia. This initiative offers a unique space for artists from Álava to present their works over a three-month period.
In this second edition, artist Blanca Abajo Alda is the featured artist, following in the footsteps of well-known names such as Eduardo Alsasua and Lourdes Vicente, who have previously participated. The project maintains a consistent structure: a different painting is displayed each month, although techniques and themes vary. The chosen location at Vittoria allows for the exhibition of medium and small-format works without issues.
Abajo Alda has begun her residency at the Alto de Armentia venue with the painting Meiso, which sets the tone for the subsequent two pieces. These works focus on meditation and contemplation, where texture and volume gain special significance. The artist notes that the relaxing environment of the exhibition space also contributes to the tranquil experience.

"Furthermore, it helps that it is displayed in a relaxing space, which invites tranquility."

The next two pieces will follow the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi, which finds beauty not in supposed perfection, but in imperfection, nature, simplicity, and the traces left by time. This approach unifies the three paintings presented within the Ménsula project.
