The Vitoria City Council has put out to tender the installation of two food trucks selling food, ice cream, and non-alcoholic beverages at Gamarra pools for the summer seasons from 2026 to 2029.

The Vitoria City Council has initiated a tender for the installation of two food trucks or 'gastrofurgos' at the Gamarra swimming pools for the summer campaigns of 2026 and 2027, with an option to extend until 2029. This measure aims to resolve the difficulties encountered in the past two years in providing adequate cafeteria and restaurant services.
One of the mobile sales points will be located on the esplanade between the family pool and the rugby field, while the other will be situated near the pools and solarium, close to the first aid station. However, the City Council reserves the right to designate other locations near areas of high user traffic.
The food trucks are scheduled to operate from May 22 to September 6 this year, and from May 28 to September 12 next year. During each 108-day summer campaign, they must open for a minimum of 70 days, with public service hours from 11:00 to 20:00. They may, however, extend service from 8:00 to 22:00, aligning with the opening hours of the Gamarra facilities.
Individuals or companies managing the service must pay a fee of 669.49 euros to the City Council for the 2026 summer season. Additionally, the initial tender fee is 300 euros per year. The deadline for submitting offers began on April 2, following the publication of the terms in the BOTHA, and is 10 calendar days.
Products sold from the food trucks, which cannot be anchored to the pavement, will include processed foods and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as ice cream. The vehicles' dimensions must not exceed 8 meters in length by 2.5 meters in width, and the installation of music or public address systems of any kind is prohibited.
