The Minister of Education, Begoña Pedrosa, along with the Deputy General of Álava, Ramiro González, and the mayor of Amurrio, Txerra Molinuevo, participated in the event held today in Amurrio. This event, known as Araba Euskaraz, is the festival of the Alavese ikastolas, and this year it was organized by the Aresketa ikastola.
Unai Mendizabal, president of Araba Euskaraz, highlighted that since the creation of ikastolas, "a great leap has been made in the Basque-speaking population", but added that "faced with the decline in usage and attacks against the Basque language, it is time to provide a unified response".

Minister Pedrosa, for her part, defended the importance of strengthening the bonds that cohere Basque society, "to continue building a strong community in a context of social change and growing diversity".
The minister emphasized that Basque is "a strength of Euskadi for building the future". "It is what we are and also what we want to be", she concluded.
