Amurrio hosted thousands of people yesterday for the Araba Euskaraz festival, the main celebration of the Basque language, featuring music, culture, and numerous activities.

The town of Amurrio, in the Aiaraldea region, welcomed thousands of people yesterday for the Araba Euskaraz festival, a significant celebration for the ikastolas (Basque schools) of Araba. With favorable weather, a large crowd gathered from early morning at the Aresketa ikastola to enjoy the day.
Following the institutional ceremony, the festivities spread to the streets and the three main areas of Araba Euskaraz: Bihotza, Txinparta, and Taupadak. Throughout the day, dozens of activities were scheduled for all ages.
The program included concerts by groups such as Eh Sukarra, Akerbeltz, and Nafarroa 1512. Additionally, there was a children's show by Porrotx and Marimotots, traditional Basque sports demonstrations, workshops for children, and the Erronka competition, aimed at Primary and Secondary school students.
The event also served as the handover for the next edition. La Puebla de Arganzón will be the organizer for the 2027 Araba Euskaraz.
Prior to the main day, activities began on Friday, including the show Kantuz Taupadak Berpiztu!, pelota finals, sports events, and Gazte Eguna (Youth Day).
