This year's motto, Taupadak berpiztu! (Revive the Beats!), is the title of the song and, according to the organizers, makes “a direct call for the need to revitalize the Basque language.” The aim is to recall the resurgence of the 1960s, reflect on the current situation, and advocate for “enthusiasm and courage” for the future.
To set the mood for the June 14th event, a “danceable and diverse” song has been created. While salsa rhythms form its base, various melodies are blended, including alboka, trikitixa, trumpet, trombone, and Latin percussion.
Several musicians participated in the song, including Amaia Santamaria (vocals), Rodrigo Ulises (percussion), Yago Salorio (bass), Marcos Ortega (trumpet), Fernando Blanca (trombone), Ibon Koteron (alboka), Joseba Tapia (trikitixa), and Iñaki Otxondorena “Moro” (lyrics and vocals). Young students from Aresketa Ikastola also contributed their voices to the choirs. Eneko Martinez, a former student of the ikastola, was responsible for the music video, through which he aimed to acknowledge “the entire community that has worked since the ikastola's foundation.”
“"The lyrics of the song are a direct call for the need to revitalize the Basque language."
