Among the selected projects are Estoucha by Área Audiovisual, La Marquesa by El Convento Producciones, Una mujer europea by Atekaleun, Trenak Ekarritakoak by La Plata, Leize by Maluta Films, and Quark by Álvaro Arbina. This support is aimed at producers, as well as their respective script and directing teams.
This year's edition introduces significant novelties. The Ministry of Culture, through the ICAA, will support two selected projects, facilitating their participation in film markets by covering travel, accommodation, and accreditation expenses. Additionally, the EiTB group has joined as a collaborating entity, participating in a meeting with the selected producers to learn about their proposals firsthand and explore potential collaboration avenues.
Apika Lab will also incorporate two new mentorships: 'storybuilding', aimed at strengthening the narrative structure of projects, and 'Film Distribution and Sales', which will provide strategies for positioning works at national and international festivals, cinemas, and platforms.
In this sixth call, Apika Lab received a total of 30 projects, including short films, animation and fiction series, as well as feature films and documentaries of both genres. This initiative is promoted by the Apika association with the support of the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Álava, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, the Vital Foundation, the Ministry of Culture, EiTB, and Zineuskadi.
